We had reservations on Saturday at The restaurant was not full, there was no wait time to be seated, but it took close to an hour to receive our food. Finally got our food -- delicious! Diner level food at 5-star prices. Menu seems to have an identity crisis with limited choices and an unusual mix of food offerings.
Our waitress was attentive and personable but management did not show concern with patron satisfaction. Hostess, manager and some of the servers need to be replaced with more experienced personnel. After waiting 30 minutes, no food but the server brought the check. The ambience is very nice and the food was delicious. I loved the presentation of the soup and crab cake. The french onion soup was in an actual onion. It was sooo good and the crab cake was lump and seasoned to perfection.
It was stuffed in a crab. Drinks were very good. The service could have been better. It took long periods of time for our waitress to come back to check on us. Overall we enjoyed the experience. I did not like the food I had for diner or the next day for breakfast. I had crab on crab where the top crab was OK, but the soft crab was a horrible mush.
The egg omelet I had the next morning was void of taste and appeared to be powdered or fabricated egg. Second time at Davids. Certain dinner manus were great, but some of breakfast manus like pancakes were below average.
Wish they have more professional and trained waitresses. Overall location and environment were great. I truly enjoyed the service. I was there to celebrate my birthday and I was really impressed.
I did visit on a weekday early evening. I indeed had a great experience! I had the CrabCake it was cold and the French Fries was cold as well, the wine was good. Crab cake was inedible and was sent back. We waited forever for a waitress. We stopped Tracey to inquire about our waitress, so she took over our table. It took 50 minutes for them to bring the salad. We specifically requested Balsamic Vinaigrette instead of the Peanut dressing due to my girlfriends allergy.
We told the food runner that it was wrong since it was tossed in a clear liquid instead of a darker dressing. I tated the salad and sure enough it was the peanut dressing. The food runner walked off before we could verify this. Once my server returned, I explained to her what happened and she said she rang it up correctly. So we waited another 10 minutes for a new salad which came out covered in a clear liquid again with a side of balsamic vinaigrette. They try to tell me that the clear liquid was condensation from the lettuce.
The rest of the food came out about 70 minutes after we were seated. My girlfriend said the rockfish was very good but that the potatoes were extremely salty. I thought the American breakfast was pretty good. I thought the Hong Kong French toast was excellent. My server did a very good job trying to make everything better once there was a huge mess up on the salad.
On July 3, I went by myself and just ordered the French toast and finally walked out after waiting for 45 minutes. The communication between the wait staff in the kitchen is terrible.
We had reservations for dinner at 5: We got there on time. We sat by the large windows and the sun was directly in my face and there are no drapes to block the sun. We did not receive our drinks until 6: Our waitress was very slow and did not come check on us at all.
The waitress for the table beside us was at there We saw managers and other "suits" walking around not really doing anything. I will not go back. I live down the street from David's. My husband and I walked to dinner there on a Friday night. Greeted by Michele, she seated us and told us everything about the menu.
Our server was JaLeesa, she also was excellent. I was impressed by how much they both knew about the menu. JaLeesa also was spot on when she told me about the drinks! My husband and I can't wait to return to try more of the goodies on the menu. We are very happy a good restaurant is on Hanover now.
The bar is beautiful! The seating is comfortable. Sit where you can people watch and sip on a good drink, that was so much fun! You never know who will walk in a casino. You ran out of the chocolate tart, but I'll try it next week when we return. Keep up the good work! Interesting that restroom is outside in hallway of hotel and not inside restaurant. Very good brunch menu! The Hong Kong French Toast was delicious, a brioche bread with strawberries and bananas plus plenty of real maple syrup.
We did not enjoy our food. Cold corn bread - soggy waffles etc The omelette was big and tasty. The service was kind of lacking. Not crowded at all but food took over 30 minutes. Drinks took over 25 minutes to make. Not crowded at all so kind of disappointing. Arrived for lunch and they were filming a commercial with a binch of models and crew. I was seated at a very rickety table in the corner. The service was slow. I waited 20 minutes for the food.
The oysters should have been in the appetizer section of the menu. The fries were overly salty. The coleslaw that comes with it came in the tiniest container that I'm pretty sure was meant for ketchup. The rockfish was bland and was plated on the largest pile of mashed potatoes I have ever seen. For the money, the food was not worth it. I was so hungry, I asked for some bread and butter. Our server was not very attentive and did not seem very concerned about our needs. I had to search for him twice to get service and the hostess had to go hunt him down.
They were filming a commercial for the restaurant, but should have been more focused on the service and food quality instead. Beautiful hotel and restaurant. Went for breakfast at a very slow time and while the service was good, it took over a half hour and what seemed like forever for us to get our food.
After finally getting our food, the has browns and my sausages were lukewarm at best, and the onions in my omelette were very hard, and barely cooked, not to mention there was very little to no cheese in it as ordered. Looking forward to visiting again! The restaurant was nice. I ordered the flight of crushes and it was super yummy. However, my main meal, Thai Basil Clams was really, really salty.
It was very hard to enjoy. It had pork belly in the sauce, but I could barely enjoy it because of how salty the sauce was. I had korean short ribs and my date had the rockfish. Service not so much. They served the salads then the entree 2 minutes later. There wasn't enough room for everything and I felt rushed through my salad.
I don't think I will be back We enjoyed an early dinner 5: The food was good, particularly the crab dip appetizer though it did not come with enough pretzel bread to finish the dip and we were charged extra for more and the mashed potatoes. The pancakes were fairly standard and an Asian chicken salad had good flavor, though not much chicken. Service was fine, though again, it was not busy at the time. Certainly a place worth visiting!
